My role as an End of Life Doula is to create a peace of mind for both the loved one and the family and/or caregivers throughout the dying experience through spiritual, informational and emotional support.
Transitions
Part of my focus is on the dying experience itself, as the last of life’s great transitions. When a dying loved one is carried along and assisted their immediate world is transformed from a place of practicality to a discovery of the transcendent.
My role
My role as an End of Life Doula is to create a peace of mind for both the loved one and the family and/or caregivers throughout the dying experience through spiritual, informational and emotional support.
My support does not take the place of hospice, palliative or medical care. It is believed the physical needs and pain management of the dying person will be attended to and under control by these care givers. I am available to meet with dying individual in a hospital, private home or a residency.
Rituals
Rituals help a person die not only a peaceful death but also a sacred death, bringing reconciliation and acceptance to both the loved ones and to the person dying. Rituals are created to allow any regrets, unresolved issues, guilts or shame go, bringing the needs of the participants into the present situation. One can reconnect with those simple things that carry the spiritual emotions and help deal with the threshold experience of death.
